The Regional Democratic Council of Region Eight on Saturday last handed over an Aluminum aoat and a 25 horsepower outboard engine to the Health Department of Chenapou.

The handing over was done by the Regional Chairman Mr. Bonaventure Fredericks to the Community Health Worker Ms. Clarice Williams in the presence of the Regional Executive Officer Mr. Carl Parker and the Toasho Mr. Edward McGarrell.

Parker said that the boat and engine are to improve the health transportation services in Chenapou. Williams said she was grateful for the asset since he finds it challenging to conduct home visits in the riverine community. Parker advised that the health department use the assets wisely and to assist the education sector and the village council with transportation when needed. He also encouraged the Toshao to monitor the assets to prevent any misuse of the boat and engine.

The items were handed over to Chenapou during an invited visit by the North Pakaraimas District Council to attend their Statutory Meeting.
