PRASHAD’S Medical and Pharmacy, in collaboration with the Guyana Red Cross Society and the Blood Bank, will be hosting a blood donation drive and health fair on Saturday for members of the public.
Speaking to the Guyana Chronicle was owner of the pharmacy, Paras Prashad who noted that the event was organised to give persons in the community an opportunity to contribute positively to a meaningful service while benefiting themselves.
He shared that all donors will receive a free gift and there will be door prizes, free sampling of products, free medical advice, and other giveaways. At the health fair, there will be free testing for blood sugar, pressure, haemoglobin, cholesterol, and tests for all high school entrance students.
“We are a community pharmacy and our objective is to promote education in the community,” Prasad said. With this objective, he noted that the health fair allows for persons to get free advice with the hope that they may treat any health issues that may arise in a timely manner.
The blood drive, which will be hosted at the Prashad’s Medical and Pharmacy at Lot 62 Second Street, Little Diamond, East Bank Demerara (EBD), will run from 10:00hrs to 16:00hrs.
