Mr. Freddy Kissoon should have been around in the colonial days. He would have had a difficult time convincing the British and the Americans that Cheddi and Janet Jagan were not what they professed to be ideologically.
Imagine him telling the Brits and the Yanks at that time: “The PPP leaders do not practise what they preach and never did,” they probably would have told him to scoot.
Mr. Tony Vieira and the other ‘die in the wool’ anti-communists must be very upset with Mr. Kissoon. While they continue to push the communist bogey, Mr. Kissoon is busy chipping away at historical facts; he will probably end up like Sisiphus.
The truth is, history is history. It cannot be undone. You may try your utmost to revise it. However, such efforts will remain a mere vision, the real history will stand and not the revision. After all, the revision is merely a point of view, a perspective.
I think it was Abe Lincoln who wrote, “History is not history unless it is the truth.”
