INDIA continued their preparations for the upcoming one-day series against England with a five-run victory over Kent in a rain-affected match in Canterbury.
Virat Kohli top-scored with 78 as the tourists posted 164 for six after a lengthy delay saw the match reduced from 50 overs-a-side to 20. Joe Denly’s century ensured Kent came within touching distance of their target, but with wickets falling at regular intervals at the other end of the crease, the home side came up just short on 159 for five.
That allowed India to sneak their second warm-up win ahead of the five-match series with England, having beaten Sussex on Thursday.
RP Singh finished with figures of two for 36 for Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s men, including the wicket of Denly for exactly 100. (PA Sport)
High five for India
