AFC’s electioneering strategy

THE strategy that the small splinter party, the Alliance For Change (AFC) is using to draw public attention is by way of unending and unfounded allegations about the government in general, and the President in particular. The latest such attack was by way of a Press Release dated 10th July and distributed to media houses, in which the AFC is challenging the President to a public debate.

When contacted for a response to this challenge by the AFC yesterday, Mr. Kwame McCoy, Press and Publicity Officer to the President, said to the effect that the President is extremely time-constrained and would only accept a challenge to debate an intellectual equal.

Someone of less mental stature would not present enough of a challenge, according to McCoy, and thus the exercise would be a time-wasting one.

Mr. McCoy indicated that the President did not even bother to respond to such an insignificant challenge from those who aspire to heights of greatness by piggy-backing on the achievements of others in an effort to attain equal stature.
