ROY King also known as Roy Singh (no address given) appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday, on two charges of robbery under arms.
He was not required to plead to either of the indictable charges, one of which stated that, on August 3, in Georgetown, being armed with a knife, he robbed Ragnauth Singh of one motor vehicle insurance certificate, one licence to transport goods and $80,000. The other charge alleged that, the same day, armed with a knife, he robbed Kavita Rooplall of a cellular phone valued $23,000.
Police Corporal Venetta Pindar, prosecuting, objected to bail for Singh and he was remanded to prison before the cases were transferred to another Court for October 18.
