Murder accused Kenrick Heywood not competent to stand trial

–  sent to National Psychiatric Hospital, Berbice
ON  the basis of  a medical pronouncement from Government  Psychiatrist  Dr. Bhiro Harry, the accused Kenrick Heywood who is accused  of the murder of Jairam Shivram , is suffering from Psychosis – and would not be competent to understand the proceedings  of the trial and therefore should be sent to  the Berbice Psyciatric  Hospital for medical attention.
As a consequence, Justice Roxanne George ordered that he be taken to the National Psychiatric Hospital, Berbice , for treatment.
It was pointed out by the judge that if after receiving treatment the accused is deemed competent to stand trial, he is to be returned to the Georgetown  Prisons  from where  arrangements will be made for his trial to proceed.
Miss Konyo Sandiford and Miss  Prithima  Kissoon were the Prosecutors in the matter.
