THE police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Ramjit Dindial, 35, of Lusignan North, East Coast Demerara, who died at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) yesterday. Investigations have so far revealed that at about 22:00 hrs on Tuesday, August 02, 2011, Ramjit Dindial was walking along the roadway at Lusignan when he was allegedly struck behind his head by a man. He was taken to the GPHC where he later died.
The suspect has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
Dindial’s body is at the Lyken’s Funeral Parlour awaiting a post mortem examination.
Relatives said Dindial was at their home playing dominoes earlier in the day and left that afternoon but was told he was seen at a Chinese restaurant the evening he was killed.
He was apparently with some friends but it is unsure who murdered him after he was with a group of friends imbibing.
Reports are that he did odd jobs around the neighbourhood and was unmarried and did not have any children.
