THE police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 20:15hrs on Tuesday, at New Road, Vreed-en Hoop, West Coast Demerara, and which resulted in the death of Kaishri Persaud, 26, of Crane, West Coast Demerara, and injuries to Tricia DeFreitas, 17, of the same address.

Investigations revealed that Persaud and DeFreitas were walking along the roadway when they were struck down by a motor vehicle which drove away. They were taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where Kaishri Persaud was pronounced dead on arrival, while Tricia DeFreitas has been admitted a patient at a private hospital.
