The Essequibo Chapter of the Justice of Peace Association has elected a new executive.
According to reports from the association, the new president is Sammy Rampersaud, who is the current Mayor of the Town of Anna Regina, while the secretary is Anwar Ali of Land of Plenty.
The new treasurer is retired head teacher Jean Amsterdam. Retired headmaster Rudolph Williams is the assistant treasurer.
The election was conducted in the Anna Regina Magistrate Court on July 3.
