July 1 causing death defendant remanded overnight

COLIN Blackman also known as Denny, 23, of Lot 41 Roxanne Burnham Gardens, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday, the charge against the defendant said, on July 1, at Middle Road, La Penitence, he drove motorcycle CE 7119 in a manner dangerous to the public and caused the demise of Radyah Escorees.

Blackman, who is employed at Denny’s Bakery, Lot 41 Charles and Howes Streets, Charlestown, also in Georgetown, said he did not see the victim when he hit her.

The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Denise Griffith disclosed that Blackman will soon be facing two additional charges of unlicensed driving and breach of insurance.

Consequently, he was remanded to prison overnight and is to make his next appearance today.
