THE body of a 53-year-old man was found floating in a Nabaclis, East Coast, Demerara (ECD) trench Tuesday afternoon.
He was identified as Terrence James called “Dog Hand”, of Lot 16 Sancho Street, Golden Grove, ECD. Enquiries disclosed that the deceased was a known alcoholic.
Reports indicate that on Monday, James was seen consuming alcoholic beverages at Far East restaurant located on the Nabaclis Public Road and in the evening he left the bar.
However, a welder came out of his yard the following day and saw the body floating in the Nabaclis trench, which runs north to south and is situated to the eastern side of his home.
The body was found floating face down and it was clad in a yellow jersey, a pair of cream three-quarter pants and a red and black food bag hanging around his left shoulder.
The police were summoned to the scene. There were no marks of violence on the body which was taken to the Lyken Funeral Parlour, where it is awaiting a post-mortem.
