The race for the Club Champions Cup begins

THE month of February is packed with exciting events as the Lusignan Golf Club hosts the first of ten club tournaments, designed to identify the best players in Guyana. Golfers will compete for points all year in an effort to put their names in the record books.

The battle began yesterday at 07:30hrs in an effort to ensure that all players have no excuse not to participate. Points will be assigned to the top players over the next ten months.

At stake are the Top Golfer, Best Gross and Best Net rankings at the Lusignan Golf Club which come with perks, hampers and prizes.

February 11, members of the CARICOM Secretariat along with more than 30 women will converge on the Club’s grounds to enjoy an introduction to the game on the newly revamped grounds and indulge in wine-tasting, poetry, photo opportunities and more.

Students from the University of Guyana will also be there as they continue their quest to master the game of golf, referred to as the sport of kings.

On February 18 hundreds of visitors and families will meet at the course as the Club hosts its first Greensome of 2018 with delicious barbecues and more than $100 000 in prizes to be won.

Members will team up and have lots of fun then join to share their secret recipes with visitors. Tickets are just $1000 and can be obtained from any member or by calling the club.

Special thanks go to Trophy Stall, Kissoon’s, Banks DIH, MACORP, Vish Trading, Continental Group, Assuria, Nand Persaud, Ansa McAl, Scotiabank, to name a few, who have contributed in the past and have already committed to the success of the club in 2018.

This promises to be an exciting year for golf..
