Essequibo woman, 43, found dead in bed

FORTY-THREE-YEAR-OLD Yagwantie La Cruz, of Man-Man Street, Bush Lot, Essequibo Coast, was found dead in her bed, around 14:30 hrs, on Monday afternoon. It was reported that the mother of three went to take a rest, about midday, but never awakened.
Her daughter, Kissina La Cruz said she, her two other siblings and their father, Winston La Cruz, had gone to pay utility bills and, upon their return home, saw her mother, apparently, asleep and did not disturb her.
Kissina said it was unusual for her mother to sleep for long periods and she decided to try and arouse her but shaking did not produce any response and she discovered that the woman was not breathing.
It was then that other family members were alerted and the police, having been  summoned, took the woman to Suddie Hospital, also on Essequibo Coast, where she was  pronounced dead.
A post mortem examination is to be performed on the corpse to determine the cause of death.  (Rajendra Prabhulall)
