I am writing to you on behalf of Three Rivers Kids Foundation of Ontario, Canada. My name is Jeanette Singh and I am the president of the Foundation. This letter is with regard to an article published in the Kaieteur News on Friday June 17,/2011 regarding the child Kenneth Prince. The article on Kenneth Prince is inaccurate and incorrect. Kenneth does not require any further surgery. Articles requesting further donations are misleading to the public.
Publishing an article such as this without any medical information or evidence is very disturbing, not to mention the risk that you are exposing the unsuspecting public to.
Three Rivers Kids Foundation assisted this child and made all the arrangements for him to get medical treatment in November 2010. Kenneth was flown to Max Hospital in Delhi, India, for treatment of congenital heart disease. He underwent open heart surgery at that time to correct Ventricular Septal Defect and had the mitral valve repaired. He needs to be followed up by a cardiologist/doctor in Guyana like all the other children who underwent cardiac surgery.
Three Rivers Kids Foundation conducts free cardiac screening clinics in Guyana every two years. In 2012 Kenneth Prince will be examined by the doctor who performed his surgery as Dr. Viresh Mahajan from Max Hospital will be conducting the clinic in Guyana.
I hope that you can find a way to rectify this misunderstanding and resolve this issue.
