Tiger Sports XI secure comfortable win over Jaimangal All Stars of Lusignan

… another consistent performance from Chanderpaul
TIGER Sports XI secured yet another comfortable win in their series of 20-20 tapeball competitions against local teams.
Last Monday night , under floodlights at the National Park, Tiger Sports XI took on the promising Jaimangal All Stars of Lusignan.

Electing to bat after winning the toss, the early loss of Brandon Chanderpaul and former Guyana wicketkeeper/batsman Sheik Mohammed for 6 and 4 respectively pegged back Tiger Sports XI after some disciplined bowling by Jaimangal All Stars.
However, consistent knocks by Tiger Sports XI skipper Shyam Nokta with 21, Guyana and West Indies batting star Shivnarine Chanderpaul 30, and Nigel Dharamlall 16, steadied the innings.
Then some lower order aggressive hitting by Ryan Basdeo and Patrick Khan who made 24 and 12 respectively saw Tiger Sports XI post 180 all out in their allotted 20 overs.
For Jaimangal All Stars, A. Habib was the pick of the bowlers securing four wickets for 23 runs in his 4 overs.
When Jaimangal All Stars took to the crease they got off to a slow start and lost wickets regularly, eventually being bowled out for 143 in their 20 overs. The only significant resistance came from R Jailall with 28.
For Tigers XI, Delon took 5 wickets for 28 runs in his 4 overs and Shiv Chanderpaul took 2 wickets for 12 runs in his allotted 4 overs. Delon was named Man-of-the-Match for his match winning performance.
Tiger Sports XI will play several matches this week prior to the departure of their star player Shivnarine Chanderpaul to take up West Indies duties.
