RK’s donates to widow of accidentally killed guard

CHIEF Executive Officer (CEO) of RK’s National Security Network, Mr. Roshan Khan handed over an undisclosed sum of money yesterday, to the widow of Grindra Nauth, a guard who was killed on Anna Regina Public Road, Essequibo Coast, while on his way to work on August 19, 2010. Chairman of Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), Mr. Ali Baksh and Regional Executive Officer (REO), Mr. Sunil Singh, as well as several officers of RK Security Services were present when the widow, Roxanne Nauth, received the cash in the Regional Boardroom, at Anna Regina.
Before making the presentation, Khan remarked that the security guard’s death was a painful experience for the company, as Nauth was dedicated, faithful, very effective and took his job seriously.
Khan said, on learning of the man’s demise, his company immediately donated $100,000 to assist with the wake and funeral arrangements.
Khan also disclosed that, after some nine months, the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) has not assisted the widow with any benefits, although his employer had paid 209 contributions.
He said Nauth was previously employed by another security firm which made no NIS payments for him.
Declaring that he is very hurt when employers do not pay NIS for employees, Khan said RK employs 2,500 people countrywide and always ensures that employees’ NIS contributions are paid promptly.
Baksh concurred that the deceased was a very good worker who served the Region well as a security guard and he thanked RK Security Services for looking into the welfare of the dead man’s family.
REO Singh added his thanks to RK’s for the monetary donation and he was among those, including the Managing Officer for the security contractor, Mr. Dexter Sansculotte, who accompanied the widow to open a bank account with her monetary donation.
