Crime Chief denies ever speaking to Granger about crime in Guyana

THE Guyana Police Force (GPF) yesterday refuted a statement made on television by PNCR Presidential Candidate, David Granger on crime in Guyana.
On ‘Facing the Nation’ on CNS TV Channel 6 on Friday May 6, 2011,
Granger said that he was told by the head of the Police Criminal Investigation Department that on average there were two armed robberies in Guyana every day.

In a statement yesterday, Crime Chief Seelall Persaud categorically denied that he ever had any discussion with Mr. David Granger in relation to crime or the crime situation in Guyana, and that he has ever confirmed to anyone that, on average, there were two armed robberies every day.
