THE Healthy Living Health Club hosted yet another outreach on Saturday, targeting the residents of Victory Valley, Wismar, Linden.
Some 200 residents of the Victory Valley community benefited from the back to school/medical outreach.
The residents received medical services such as blood glucose and blood pressure testing, resulting in many persons being referred to the Linden Hospital Complex.
In addition, school supplies such as books, pencils, water bottles and bags were also given to children of the community.
Chairman of the Community Development Council (CDC) group in Victory Valley, Anthony Roberts, said Saturday’s event was exceptional and he is pleased with what the Healthy Living Health Club has done for his community.

“My people benefited. Once my people happy, I’m happy because my duty is to make my people life as easy as possible,” Roberts said.

The residents of the community expressed their gratitude to the medical team.
“I must commend the organisation and who organise it. It is a good thing because I’m certain that there are persons who benefited from it, especially the school children,” said John Griffith, a Victory Valley resident.

The Healthy Living Health Club has had eight outreaches in the past with the first being held in August of 2016 in the Bamia community. The club has 35 members, consisting of medical students, nurses, housewives and teachers, among others.
According to founder of the club, Colwyn Allen, attention will next be placed on Rockstone, Blueberry Hill and Oruro.

The outreach was sponsored by Snook’s Variety Store, Levi’s Variety Store, Shanghai, S&S Little Corner, Banks DIH (Linden Branch), Nurse Mariam of the One Mile Health Centre and her husband, Mohabir’s Variety Store, Corwin Brian, Dairy Treat and Green Money Entertainment.
