Guyanese remanded after St. Lucia’s major drug bust

POLICE  in St. Lucia have charged Troy Green, a 41-year-old Guyanese national and a 23- year-old St Lucian woman, Shalin Clement, originally of Odsan, Castries, for  the possession of controlled drugs and possession with intent to supply.

According to  information reaching the Chronicle, on 17 March, 2011 , a combined  unit of police officers conducted an operation at an  apartment at Rodney Heights, Gros-Islet, where a  quantity of twenty-six kilos of cocaine at an  approximate value of $405,000 EC was recovered.

After investigations, the couple was arrested and charged with trafficking in narcotics. They have since been remanded to prison.
