Last Sunday the Rotary Club of Stabroek held its “Clash of the Corporates” Football Competition at Banks DIH Thirst Park. The competition kicked off at 09:30h and five teams from Republic Bank Limited, Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA), Ansa McAl, Wдrtsilд and CARICOM participated.   Ten intense matches were played and GRA captured the winner’s trophy sponsored by Trophy Stall.
CARICOM was adjudged the most disciplined team and Lance Royston from CARICOM was awarded the Most Valuable Player’s trophy.
The competition fostered an environment of sportsmanship among players, reinforced important values of respect, fair and ethical competition, and promoted collaboration and dialogue to eliminate social discord.
The event was organized to complement the club’s take away lunch fund-raiser.
