Two Moblissa drug traffickers jailed, fined

AMEER Sears (no address given) was sentenced to three years imprisonment yesterday for drug trafficking.
In addition, Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry fined him $30,000 after he pleaded guilty to having, on April 10, at Moblissa, along Soesdyke/Linden Highway, 78 grammes of cannabis (marijuana) for the purpose.
Sears was one of two convicts jailed for a similar crime.
The other, Trevor McPherson, was sentenced to four years imprisonment and ordered to pay a $30,000 fine.
He was convicted for the April 10 trafficking of 455 grammes marijuana, at Moblissa, as well.
McPherson claimed he uses the narcotic to treat his asthmatic condition.
