Some fraud probe suspects turned themselves in
POLICE Crime Chief Seelall Persaud disclosed yesterday that, following the issuance of wanted bulletins for ten persons in relation to fraud at a government department, several of them have since turned themselves in.
He could not provide their names offhand but indicated that the Accountant General’s Office is also carrying out its own, internal probe and the police have provided personnel to assist. Police said, Friday, that anyone with information which may lead to the arrest of the ten is asked to telephone numbers 226-1326, 226-0192, 225-8196, 225-2722, 225-6411 and 911 or contact the nearest police station, with the assurance of strict confidentiality.
The police said they want to question Shamshon Mohamed, 60, a security guard of Field 8, Sophia, Dianne Staglon, 39, a cosmetologist of Lot 1 Vlissengen Road and Cornel Edwards Watson, 29, whose last address was given as Lot 400 West Ruimveldt, all in Georgetown; Mona Faye Barnes, a 43-year-old housekeeper of Middle Street, Buxton; Colleen Wendella Easton, 56, of Lot 21 Ogle Front, June Nicholson, a supervisor of Lot 7 NARI Compound, Mon Repos, Abiola Vanessa Roberts, 35, of Vigilance South and Nigel Anthony Adams, 38, a supervisor of Airstrip Road, Lot ‘C’ Ogle, all on East Coast Demerara.
