POULTRY theft is again rampant in Henrietta New Housing Scheme on the Essequibo Coast.
One rearer, Mr. Naresh Persaud said he awoke early Tuesday morning to feed his ducks but discovered an empty pen with the door broken.
He told the Guyana Chronicle that 27 ducks, valued $40,000, had been stolen.
According to him, the thieves gained entry to his property from an abandoned plot of land next to his, whose owner migrated and left the place like a jungle.
Persaud is the latest loser to report such loss over the past months during which several others rearing feathery stock in the village were victims of thieves.
