MAGISTRATE Adela Nagamootoo imposed a six months sentence on Orin Abel yesterday after convicting him of break and enter and larceny.
The 34-year-old prisoner admitted that he broke into a house owned by Keith Ross, at Rose Hall Town, Corentyne, from where he stole 15 zinc sheets valued $45,000.
The virtual complainant had secured his house, at Lot 48 Swamp Section, leaving the materials inside but, on his return, a few days later, he discovered them missing.
However, acting on information received, Police went to Lot 88 Sixth Street, in the same township, where five and half sheets were recovered from the convict’s home, the magistrate was told in New Amsterdam Court, also in Berbice.
