Ranks of the Guyana Police Force were this morning called in after what appeared to be an explosive device was discovered aback of the National Communications Network on Homestretch Avenue in the city.
The discovery was made by a security guard at approximately 07:20hrs, after which the management and staff was alerted. The intervention of the Guyana Police Force was sought immediately after. Investigating ranks arrived soon after and examined the device which was found at the back of the complex in the outhern-most part of the compound. Ranks also scoured the area.
It is still to be ascertained by bomb experts if what was discovered was indeed an explosive device, as investigations continue.
