MARK Carmichael (no address given) appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday, charged with smoking cannabis (marijuana).
He pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said it was committed on February 21.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said the defendant was arrested by ranks on mobile patrol in Water Street, Georgetown, from among a number of persons standing and a search of his person yielded the narcotic.
Carmichael was put on $50,000 bail until February 28.
