LINK SHOW 27 HITS NCC STAGE ON FEBRUARY 18

The National Cultural Centre comes alive on February 18 for the only annual satirical review in Guyana for the 27th year, LINK SHOW 27 Directed by Ron Robinson  and produced by Gem Madhoo-Nascimento, it is being presented as a joint production of The Theatre Company and GEMS Theatre Productions.

With elections due to take pace later this year, many aspiring political candidates are surfacing for some of the major parties providing the scriptwriters with much material for this year’s Link Show skits.

The Link Show was first staged in 1981 and has  become an annual production on the theatre calendar of  Guyana. Between 1997-2002, it ventured out annually to New York, New Jersey, Washington and Toronto, playing to Guyanese and Caribbean audiences
It satirises popular personalities, political figures, current affairs and situations in the country. The satire is presented in the forms of skits, songs, dances and monologues by a cast of over 30 of Guyana’s premier actors. 

Most of the seasoned and popular actors in Guyana are cast in Link Show 27, and will be executing hilarious skits in their own inimitable style. Some of the more seasoned and popular ones are Henry Rodney , Nasimul Hussain, Sonia Yarde, Michael Ignatius   
Rajan Tiwari, Sheldon Braithwaite, Sherry Ann Dyal    ,Simone Dowding ,Ajay Baksh, Derek Gomes, Lavonne George, Nicola Moonsammy, Leslyn Lashley and Troy Parboo.
For the past three years, a number of actors coming out of the Carifesta trainers workshops and other drama workshops are Kijana Lewis, Lynyus Adams, Tashondra Inniss,Tonaisea Robertson , Abigail Brower, Travis McKenzie and Kyle Isaacs, are all proving their mirth and claiming their permanent spots in the show. 
More recent additions to the show for the past two years are Paul Budnah, Raymond Persaud and Sean Budnah. Making their debuts in this Link Show are Mosa Telford, Shameeza Hussain, Mark  Edwards,  Johanne David and young Ava Dyal

The curtain goes up promptly at 20:00hrs.
