GUYANA Red Cross Society (GRCS), in partnership with the National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS), hosted another drive at its Georgetown Headquarters, on Wednesday last, under the theme ‘To be a Star.’ GRCS Communications Officer, Kerensa Gravesande, said the blood drives encourage a healthy lifestyle and saves the lives of other human beings.
She said the activity is in keeping with a pledge to save lives, there is also a theme for every fourth quarter drive. This month’s was chosen because February is a month for entertainment that will target the youths of Guyana.
Some popular entertainers, among them Jumo Primo, Adrian Dutchin, Big Red, DJ Casual and Nigel Worrel (The Fox), were also present at the Wednesday occasion, to give support to the voluntary blood donors.
