GUYANESE Travis Blyden led his adopted club Rousillac United (RU) of Trinidad and Tobago to their first victory last Sunday, when they defeated Progressive Sports Club (PSC) by five wickets in a rain-reduced encounter. Playing in the Championship League, the second highest division in T&T, RU restricted PSC to 162-8 from their 35 overs, with Elton Baker another Guyanese taking 3-26 from seven overs, after their first match was washed out due to heavy rains the previous day.
When RU batted, they reached 163-5 from 22 overs, with Blyden who was named captain of the team for the 2011 season, following an impressive performance last season, leading the way with a polished 59 (7×4, 2×6) that earned him the man-of-the-match award.
