Unlawful possession defendant claims ownership

VINCENT Fordyce, of Lot I Grand Sand Road, Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday on an unlawful possession charge. He pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on January 6, he had one television set, a bicycle, cycle pump and an electric saw, among other things reasonably suspected to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained.
The defendant told the Court the items belonged to him but Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, said Fordyce was seen acting in a suspicious manner and was arrested.
The defendant was put on $25,000 bail until January 13.
