According to a police release, the armed robbery took place at approximately 19:45hrs when 24-year-old Jason Hussein was home alone at his one-storey house. This newspaper understands that Hussein observed a masked male entering an eastern window and he immediately ran to his front door in a bid to escape, but was confronted by two masked men, one with a handgun, from which he discharged a round in the house.
According to the police release, the bandits then bound the victim’s hands behind his back, dealt him several cuffs and kicks about his body and demanded he hand over all his valuables. They then ransacked the house and carted off several cell- phones, pieces of jewellery and an undisclosed amount of cash.
