Police destroy seized marijuana worth $42M

SOME 422 kilogrammes of cannabis (marijuana), with an estimated value of $42M, was destroyed by the Police Narcotics Branch
yesterday, at the municipal incinerator on Princes Street, Georgetown.
Police Superintendent Errol Watts said the US$211,116 worth of the illegal substance was seized in cases prosecuted between 2008 and
2010, which have been concluded in Court.
He informed that the seizures were from people’s residences, airports and wharves.
Watts said they will be destroying cocaine recovered during that same period, early next year.
