Two White Castle Fish Shop robbery accused remanded

TWO men, David Bernard and Junior Dover (no addresses given) were, yesterday, remanded to prison, by Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, on robbery under arms charges.
One of the allegations against the accused, is that, on December 17, being armed with a gun, they robbed Shaka Mc Queen of a gold chain worth $100,000 and a gold band valued $30,000.

The other charge said, on the same day, they robbed Cleveland Ford of a $90,000 gold band and a $9,000 sliver ring.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, said the virtual complainants were at the White Castle Fish Shop, at Hadfield and John Streets, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown when they were attacked.
The Prosecutor said Bernard took a gun from his waist and pointed it at the victims, demanding that they hand over the jewellery or be killed and, becoming afraid, Mc Queen and Ford complied with the demand.
Bernard told the Court it is impossible for a robbery to take place at White Castle Fish Shop because there is heavy security on the premises.
However, bail was refused the duo and he and his co-accused will remain incarcerated until December 29.
