GFA/Coca-Cola U-15 f/ball tourney
UPRISING and Fruta Conquerors are the current points leaders in their respective groups of the Georgetown Football Association’s (GFA) Coca-Cola Under-15 Football Tournament which continues on Sunday with three matches.
To date, Uprising heads Group ‘A’ points standing with 12 points, while Fruta Conquerors leads Group ‘B’ standing with 15 points.
Uprising has so far played four matches and won all of them while Fruta Conquerors has played five matches to date, winning all, with two victories by walk overs.
Uprising has scored 23 goals to date while conceding three for a goal difference of 20.
Fruta Conquerors on the other hand has scored 18 goals to date and conceded three for a goal difference of 15.
In Group ‘A’, Santos who has so far played four matches, winning three and drawing the other, is second with 10 points with a goal difference of nine, having scored 11 goals and conceding two.
Renaissance is third in the group with seven points after playing four matches.
They won two, drew one and lost the other. To date they have scored 19 goals and conceded nine.
Flamingo follows next with six points from four matches, having won two and losing the other two. They scored five goals and conceded seven.
The other two teams in the group – Sunburst Camptown and Beacon are both pointless after four matches each.
While Camptown lost all four of their matches which they made appearances for, Beacon lost all four of theirs by walk overs.
Camptown has so far registered three goals, but conceded 14.
In Group ‘B’, Thomas United is second with 10 points from five matches. They won three (two by walk overs), drew one and lost the other. They scored nine goals and conceded four.
GFC who also has 10 points from five matches is third in the standing, since they won three matches, drew one and lost the other, but to date they have scored eight goals and conceded seven.
Fourth in the group is Riddim Squad who has six points from five matches also. They won two matches by walk overs but lost the other three. They scored seven goals and conceded 12.
BK International Western Tigers and Marian Academy, the other two teams in the group are both pointless since both of them have never made an appearance for any of their five matches.
The highest goal scorer to date is Selwin Williams of Renaissance who has so far registered nine goals.
He is being followed closely by Uprising’s Keson Dey with eight goals to his name. Devon Alfred, also of Uprising is third with six goals, while Pernell Schultz of Fruta Conquerors has five goals to his name.
To date, 84 goals have been scored in the competition with Uprising leading the way with 23 of them.
They are followed by Renaissance who has so far recorded 19. Fruta Conquerors is next with 15.
The competition will continue on Sunday with Flamingo tackling Renaissance at the Tucville ground from 08:00h and Santos meeting Uprising at the same venue from 10:00 h.
Over at the Camptown ground, the home team will host Beacons from 08:00h.
