Big wins for St Angela’s, St Pius
ROUND three of the COURTS/Petra/ Pee-Wee football tournament yielded big results for St Angela’s and St Pius schools at Banks DIH Thirst Park,yesterday.
In the first game, St Angela’s easily got past Tucville 6-0 who failed to produce even a consolation goal.
Omarie Nelson was on target for St Angela’s in the 2nd and 27th minutes while Seon Cato’s brace (8th and 26th)along with Dexter Farrell (13th) and Antonio McArthur (29th) ,all scored for the winners.The game between Success elementary and School of the Nations ended goalless.
Game three which was between Comenius Primary and F.E. Pollard saw one goal being scored by the latter through Bryan Wharton in the 11th minute while the South Ruimveldt vs St Stephen’s game finished 2-1
Antonio Lietch (11th) and Saleem Rameshwar (12th) scored back-to-back strikes for the South side while Omali Xavier’s 7th minute goal was all that St. Stephens could manage.
St Pius dominated Maes 5-0 in game five with a brace each from Kaden Wellington (9th and 13th) and Dwayne Baptiste (15th and 22nd )along with Deshale Humphrey’s 5th minute strike while Winfer Gardens won via walkover from Smith Memorial.
Redeemer Primary and Rama Krishna played to a goal-less stalemate while Stella Maris could do very little to stop St Agnes who won 1-0, complements of Amos Bayley (6th)
St Margaret’s had a hard-fought 2-0 win over J.E. Burnham with goals from Mickelle Andrews in the 7th and 27th min while Marian Academy drew with North Georgetown 1-1.
Marian Academy scored through Nicholas Verwey in the 1st minute with North Georgetown equalising through Shaquan Walters in the 15th.
Tyrese Hart (40th) inspired St Gabriel’s 1-0 win over St. Ambrose while West Ruimveldt had Kevin Mentis (18th) on target when they beat Enterprise 1-0
