In Essequibo…

Wild dogs killing livestock
– residents appealing for help

A pack of wild dogs living in the backlands of Affiance and Taymouth Manor Villages on the Essequibo Coast are destroying livestock and cattle in the neighbouring Queenstown and Columbia villages.
Reports reaching the Chronicle said some four farmers in Queenstown Village have lost six cows already while livestock farmers in Columbia have lost dozens of sheep.
Residents said the wild dogs  live in the bushes aback Affiance and Taymouth Manor, and  are very dangerous.
Farmers in Queenstown Village said the dogs are very strong and aggressive because they have killed and eaten six cows in their community.
Farmers in the two villages are now calling on police to help eradicate the pack of  wild dogs or their livestock will be finished before Christmas.
