(REUTERS) – World champion Allyson Felix and American record holder David Oliver have won Jesse Owens Awards as U.S. athletes of the year.
Felix, the three-time world 200 metres champion, earned 2010 Diamond League titles in both the 200 and 400 metres. She is a three-time Owens Award winner.
Oliver set the U.S. 110 metres hurdles record of 12.89 seconds during an undefeated outdoor season, a performance that made the Olympic bronze medallist the third fastest hurdler of all-time. He also won the 110m hurdles Diamond League title.
Felix and Oliver will be presented with their awards on December 4 in conjunction with USA Track & Field annual meeting at Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Athletics great Owens won gold medals in the 100 and 200 metres, long jump and 4×100 metres relay at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
