“THE family unit is a very important pillar in our community”, said Executive Director of Laparkan Group of Companies, Vibert Parvatan, at Fogarty’s Father’s Day Promotion presentation ceremony.
At the ceremony which took place on the top floor of the shopping complex, Parvatan stressed the importance of family, particularly the role of the father, saying that sometimes we read of cases where children are abused or children assaulting their parent. However, he said that this is in the minority, as he went on to laud the joys of fatherhood.
Congratulating the winners, Parvatan noted that much time had gone into selecting the gifts for the competition and encouraged those present to continue shopping at Fogarty’s.
The winners were: 1st prize winner of a Sankey “21” inch Television, Mignon Fypher;  2nd prize of a Parker Sonnet Pen, Oswald Joseph; 3rd prize of a Fossil Watch, Seepersaud Chatterdeo; 4th prize of a multifunction bench, Elizabeth Fiedtkou; 5th prize of a grocery hamper, Frederick Collins; 6th prize of a 23pc Hair Trimmer, Peter DeGroot; 7th prize a Lasko Stand Fan, Komal Bhagwan, 8th prize of a Haden Electric Kettle, Bert Charles; 9th prize of a Kenzo Organi Cologne Set, Kimiku Melville; and 10th Prize of a Lunch for Four, Nazima Sankar.
The event which featured musical interludes of “Oh My Papa” and Luther Vandross’s “Dance with my Father”, was hosted by popular broadcaster Ron Robinson and was broadcast live.
