Dental boat service being reintroduced for riverine communities

In Region Two…
THE People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) Government is reintroducing a dental boat service in the riverine Pomeroon and Amerindian communities.

Addressing Councillors at the statutory meeting of the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) last week Tuesday, Chairman of Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), Mr. Alli Baksh said the resumption will officially begin from Charity, Essequibo Coast, on October 4.
He recalled that the service was first introduced in Pomeroon River by the Government of Dr. Cheddi Jagan in the 1950s.
Baksh said the vessel to be used will be equipped with a dental chair and all other facilities to provide efficient and quality delivery to all schools in Upper and Lower Pomeroon River, Amerindian communities and savannahs.
He said the Government, currently, provides dental services to all Amerindian communities but the dental boat will contribute a tremendous boost.
