**Show your support for beloved actor and comedian Henry Rodney at ‘Rokatuks’, a comedy relief show staged in hopes of raising funds for necessary medical expenses, in light of the comedian’s illness. The show will be held at the National Cultural Centre from 20:00hrs. Tickets cost $1,000 and $1,500.
**Local Rock Band, Feed the Flames will host a fundraising barbecue in aid of their upcoming trip to Trinidad, where they will represent Guyana.
Barbecue will be served at the Courtyard Mall from 13:00hrs. Tickets cost $1,000.
**The Brazilian Embassy in Georgetown is hosting its traditional ‘June Festival’ at the Brazil-Guyana Cultural Centre on Church Street.
The event is a two-part one, beginning at 16:00hrs for children, and at 18:00hrs for adults.
Admission to the event is free. Come out and celebrate the rich Brazilian culture with members of the local Brazilian community.
**As “Painting the Spectrum 12”, SASOD’s 2016 LGBT Film Festival comes to a close next week, SASOD will celebrate the success of the festival by hosting its first party in Region 3, dubbed “West Side Pride Party” at the Aracari Resort’s banquet hall in Versailles, West Bank Demerara from 19:00hrs. Admission is free. There will also be free, on-site HIV counselling and testing all night, which is supported by Peace Corps Guyana.
