Cabinet outreach in Region 5 today

CABINET will be continuing its outreach activities today as it takes to the road en route to the communities of Region Five, where members will be engaging residents on the ground in like manner as similar engagements around the country of late.
Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Presidential Secretariat Dr. Roger Luncheon, speaking yesterday at his post-Cabinet press briefing held at the Office of the President,
said there will be over 30 community events organized across the Region Five landscape and at these locations, Cabinet members, including Ministers, will be ‘engaging  with the grassroots’.
He said the activities today will climax at 17:00 hours in Bath on the West Coast of Berbice where a grand public event will unfold and will be structured around President Bharrat Jagdeo’s address to the residents of Region 5.
Over the past months, Cabinet has held several outreaches with the people of Guyana, visiting Linden and the East Bank of Essequibo just a few months ago. The Government made the point that its effort to reach out to the people is its way of building partnerships and opening accessibility to Government.
It is not unusual for Government Ministers to record the names and contact numbers of persons as they address problems that fall under their Ministry’s purview in the various communities.
