Road carnage continues…
The police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 01:20 h yesterday at Providence Public Road, East Bank Demerara, which resulted in the death of an unidentified male of East Indian descent, about 55 to 60 years of age, and of fair complexion.
According to a Police press release, investigations revealed that the driver of motor car PLL 2595 was proceeding along the roadway when it is alleged that the man attempted to cross the road and was struck down.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital. The body was taken to the Lyken Funeral Parlour. Up to press time the man was still unidentified. The driver of the motor vehicle involved in the accident is in police custody assisting with the investigations, Police confirmed.
