ANOTHER dominant performance from Team Wreckers ensured a successful title defence of the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club’s (GMR&SC) Endurance race yesterday. Owned and operated by Anand Ramchand of Ramchands Auto Body and Wrecker Services, the team was the first to complete 100 laps around the large track at the South Dakota Circuit.

The drivers, Ramchand himself and Adrian Fernandes, piloted the Toyota Leven to victory over the course, in approximately two hours 40 minutes, interchanging and refuelling.
It was not all smooth sailing for the Wreckers team as they came under fire at one point during the race.
Mid-way the competition, the team traded the lead lap after lap with the Top Power/Special Auto team of Rajiv Rajaram and Shan Seejatan, but the later suffered mechanical issues which caused them to fall out.
The Ramchand/Fernandes registered in the 1501-1600cc class.
Meanwhile, second overall winner on the day were Mohan Ramkawall and his partner, who completed 92 laps. That team also won the Unlimited CC class.
In the 0-1500cc class, Arshaad Hassan/ Davin Panday with a total of 83 laps carted off the win while in the 1600-2000cc class, it was Roshan Ali/Shan Seejatan who finished the day.
The Ali/Seejatan team also produced the fastest lap time of the day, a 1.21.452 second time.
Finishing behind Ramkawall in the Unlimited class were Paul Jiwanram/Azad Hassan while Seejatan and Brian Ten-Pow finished third.
