A pedal cyclist is in police custody following the death of Teneshia Edwards, 10, of Parika, East Bank Essequibo, which occurred this morning at the Georgetown Public Hospital. Edwards was struck down by a pedal cyclist at about 14:00 hrs on Monday last while walking along the Parika Access Road. She was taken to the Leonora Hospital where she was treated and sent away.
Subsequently, at about 04:00 hours yesterday, Edwards complained of feeling unwell and was taken to the Georgetown Hospital , where she succumbed while receiving medical treatment.
The cyclist is in police custody.
