Outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Guyana, His Excellency Zhang Jungao, yesterday paid a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett at her Takuba Lodge office. Minister Rodrigues-Birkett, extending farewell wishes to Ambassador Jungao, expressed appreciation for the strengthened relations that exist between not only China and Guyana, but also the entire Caribbean.
Ambassador Jungao said that it was an honour for him to be posted to Guyana and his stay in the country was an enjoyable one.
He expressed appreciation to the Government and the Foreign Ministry for the support he received during his tenure and for the importance that President Bharrat Jagdeo pays to bilateral relations between the two countries. (GINA)
