MINISTER of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Mr. Manniram Prashad said, Wednesday, he expects Berbice Expo 2010 to be a huge success. The sixth in that series of expositions and trade fairs, being staged under the theme ‘Promoting Economic Diversity’, would allow for te showcasing of what the ‘Ancient County’ has to offer, from July 23 to 26, at Canje Welfare Centre Ground.
The minister, urging business people and others involved in art and craft to support the venture, added: “People coming back to Guyana can be more informed when it comes to what is available in Berbice.”
Prashad said his Ministry has been involved in supporting the show in a major way, including works done to advance the Number 63 Beach and Orealla Regatta.
The Ministry will have a booth to bolster local tourism in Region Six (East Berbice/Corentyne) at the Berbice Expo, which is on its calendar of events.
Organised by Central Corentyne Chamber of Commerce, the exposition is being touted as the biggest in Berbice over the past five years and one of its objectives is to attract significant investment in the Region.
