THE executives and members of the New Line Cavaliers (NLC) extend congratulations to newly selected national all-rounder Paul Wintz and his deserving entry as a member of the Guyana squad to participate in this year’s regional Twenty 20 tournament. We are confident that Paul’s ability with bat and ball along with his fielding prowess would be an asset to the team.
We wish him and the team all success and look forward to their bringing home the coveted title, along with ensuring Guyana’s participation in the champions league in South Africa.
Wintz and pugnacious youth all-rounder Jonathan Foo are the two new faces on the national team which is being led by West Indies middle-order batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan.
His contributions to NLC with both bat and ball have made the newly formed team a force to be reckoned with on the local cricket stage.
At the moment, they are leading the points table in the Demerara zone of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB)-organised three-day competition, where they have booked their place in the yet-to-be-played semifinals.
Guyana begin their quest for honours in the Regional Twenty20 tournament and a place in the Champions League today when they oppose the Windward Islands at the Kensington Oval.
