Notwithstanding recent protests at Linden by relatives and friends of several persons who have been charged with serious crimes including murder, armed robbery and rape, the Police ‘E’ Division continues to forge ahead with its Community Outreach Programmes in keeping with the Police Force’s Social Crime Prevention Programme.According to the police in a release, the Police Divisional Outreach Programmes have been gaining momentum through significant community support which have positively impacted on police-community relations, more particularly with youth empowerment through lifeskills development and the inculcation of good moral values.
Noteworthy on Friday during the Children’s Mashramani Costume Competition at Mackenzie, Linden, a nursery school student who was a participant was dressed as the Police Commander of the Division.
