Unidentified man at Fort Wellington mortuary

A MAN of East Indian descent and about 60 years old recently died at the Fort Wellington Hospital, but no one has come forward to identify and claim the body.Region Five Regional Health Officer (RHO), Dr Gavin Persaud, said Rosignol residents had called the police on Christmas Day to bring him to the hospital, since it had appeared that he was starving and no one knew him.
The man was kept at the Fort Wellington Hospital and died on New Year’s Day. While at the hospital, the staff was unable to get information from him regarding his identity.
“Unfortunately, there is no picture of him whilst he was alive. I sent my staff to ask a lot of people, showing the deceased’s photo, but still no one was able to identify the body,” the RHO said.
Dr Persaud is appealing to the man’s relatives to come forward and claim the body.
